Your BAS paperwork, sorted.
Add your bank statements and receipts. YellowBAS sorts every line, asks you about anything unclear, and gives you a draft BAS and an Excel report to check. You or your accountant lodge it.

Groceries for home, or supplies for work?
You tap one answer. Not sure? It goes on a list for your accountant.
What you need. Nothing fancy.
- Bank statements for the quarterFrom your bank's app or website. CSV is best, PDF is fine. Every account and card you use for work.
- Receipt photos, if you have themTaken on your phone, even crumpled ones. They back up the GST you claim.
Only if you have them: your accountant's spreadsheet (the report comes out in their layout) and a payroll summary (if you pay wages).
Add your files.
Press Add my documents and pick all the files at once, or drag them onto the page. Your files are read on your own device.
You do
- Press Add my documents.
- Pick your bank statements and receipt photos.
- Receipts on your phone? Press Scan a QR code and take photos.
YellowBAS does
- Reads every bank line, from any Australian bank.
- Counts a line once, even if it's in two files.
- Tells you if a month is missing.

Answer a few questions, then check the list.
Most lines sort themselves: fuel, tools, phone, supplies. For the few it can't be sure about, YellowBAS asks you one simple question at a time. Then you see the whole quarter grouped by category, biggest first, with the GST under each amount.
You do
- Tap Business, Personal, Both or Not sure.
- If it's business, tap what it was (for example Materials).
- Press Save and next.
- Open a category and change anything that looks wrong. Press Always so it's right next quarter too.
YellowBAS does
- Works out the GST for every line.
- Keeps personal spending out of your BAS.
- "Not sure" lines go in a list for your accountant.
- Matches receipts to their bank lines and adds up the totals.

Download your BAS numbers.
You get the numbers the BAS form asks for, each one explained in plain English, and an Excel report of your expenses. Lodge it yourself, or send it to your accountant.
You do
- Check the numbers on the page.
- Press Download Excel report (and the PDF draft if you like).
- Lodge with the ATO yourself, or email it to your accountant.
You get
- Your total sales and the GST on them.
- The GST you can claim back.
- What you owe the ATO, or get back.
- Each with its box code (G1, 1A, 1B…) for your accountant.

Next quarter is even quicker.
Questions people ask first
I'm not an accountant. Can I really do this?
Yes. That's who it's for. You only answer everyday questions like "was this for the business or for home?". Words like G1 and 1B are explained right next to each number.
What if I get an answer wrong?
Change it any time before you download: open the list and pick another column. Nothing is sent to the ATO by YellowBAS. If you're unsure, tap Not sure and it's flagged for your accountant.
Which banks work?
All the big Australian banks and most others: CommBank, Westpac, ANZ, NAB, ING, Bendigo, Suncorp, Macquarie, plus PayPal, Wise and Revolut. CSV is best; PDF statements work too.
What is Sort with AI?
For shops YellowBAS has never seen, press Sort with AI and it suggests a column for each. Only the shop names are sent, never amounts or files, and you check each suggestion before it counts. Free up to 300 a month once you sign in.
How much does it cost?
It's free: no credit card, and no sign-up needed to start. You sign in (also free, just your email) to download your BAS draft and Excel report, and for AI sorting, which is free up to 300 lines a month. The current version stays free for one business (one ABN). Coming soon: packages with extra features, and versions for accounting practices and BAS agents.
